Wear And Tear is a Vintage Story mod by TheInsanityGod. Wear And Tear adds part durability, decay, maintenance, protective materials, and rubble drops to mechanical and other supported blocks in Vintage Story.

Why this mod is worth installing
This mod suits players who want machines and wooden mechanisms to require care instead of working indefinitely. It is especially useful for survival worlds where weather, shelter, workload, and repairs should matter.
What Wear And Tear adds
Wear And Tear divides supported blocks into maintainable parts and automatically adds those parts to many mechanical devices, including axles, gears, windmills, helve hammers, pulverizers, molds, and querns. This can also cover compatible machinery from other mods.
Parts lose condition according to time, wind, humidity, use, shelter, and protection. Windmill sails and other powered blocks can show visible tearing, while reduced durability can lower efficiency where the mod supports that behavior.
Players can repair parts to a limited extent and protect wooden components with wax. Metal reinforcements are assigned automatically where appropriate, and broken blocks can leave rubble or scrap instead of simply disappearing.
The handbook explains the added parts and scrap, while class-based rules can provide exact durability percentages or restrict maintenance to selected players. The system is designed to be configurable and expandable, and it also adds sawdust and charcoal bricks.
