Why this mod is worth installing
This mod suits builders who want more control over wood palettes without changing the underlying wood type. It is also useful for adding colorful accents to furniture, paths, fences, and other structures.
What Wood Stain adds
Wood Stain introduces a special brush made from sticks and a regular linen sheet. Coat it with a dye color, then use it on unstained wooden blocks directly in the world.
The brush works with planks, slabs, stairs, debarked logs, fences, and fence gates. Rough-hewn fences are excluded, while stained planks currently cannot be processed back into planks with a saw.
When you want a different color, rinse the brush in clean water from a bucket or a water-filled barrel. This lets one brush be reused for multiple dye colors instead of crafting a new tool each time.
