What Wilderlands Panning Overhaul adds
Wilderlands Panning Overhaul removes sand panning entirely and cuts the usual rewards from ordinary gravel. Ore and metal nuggets therefore become much less accessible through routine processing of abundant surface material.
The mod introduces Rich Gravel, a special surface deposit intended to provide a fairer chance of finding basic nuggets and minerals. These deposits appear in gravel biomes and may also occur in gravel layers between soil and bedrock.
Rich Gravel is not always easy to notice: small, subdued colored specks in the block hint at minerals inside. Finding the right material becomes part of the panning loop, while bony soil remains unchanged.
The wider terrain changes reduce the frequency of very large gravel regions and add a more common gravel transition layer. Together, these changes make early resource gathering slower, more exploratory, and less dependent on sheer volume.
