Jaunt: Entity Movement System is a Vintage Story mod by Shintharo12, sekelsta, Freakyuser396, safwyl, Roscati and dinolord919. Jaunt: Entity Movement System is a library for rideable creatures, adding multi-stage gaits, backward movement, HUD indicators, and configurable stamina.
Why this mod is worth installing
This dependency is needed by creature and mount mods that use expanded riding controls or stamina. It has no useful standalone gameplay content.
What Jaunt: Entity Movement System adds
Jaunt extends rideable entities with a gait system. A creature can support idle, backward movement, and several forward speeds such as walking, trotting, cantering, and galloping. Riders cycle through the configured order, while HUD icons can show the active gait.
The library also adds stamina as an entity stat. Swimming, fleeing, and selected gaits can consume it; stamina regenerates during rest, with optional penalties for injured or mounted animals. Entity JSON controls the limits, rates, exhaustion threshold, and related behavior.
Jaunt is implemented as a code library but is intended to be configured through entity JSON, so content mods can use its riding and stamina behaviors without becoming code mods themselves.

Riding controls
The screenshot shows the default snaffle-bit controls: hold W to move forward, release it to stop, and use A or D to steer left and right. Other mods may occupy the same key locations, so offsets can be necessary.
